“New for 2021”
The Baedeker Raid was the 8th Air Raid attack on York during World War Two, on 29 April 1942.
At total of 65 High Explosive bombs fell and many Incendiary bombs. There were also 24 Unexploded bombs reported.
Within the city area 70 civilians were killed, including 8 children, as well as 4 Civil Defence personnel.
This talk looks at the areas bombed and the people who lived through that night of terror and those killed.
