Clay Tobacco Pipe Assessments

Clay Tobacco Pipes are often collected from archaeological sites, or field walking.

Karen Adams has included assessments of clay tobacco pipes in a number of reports as archaeological contractor (PastSearch Archaeology) and for Community Projects, including Bishop’s Palace, Howden.

Assessments include detailed information for each fragment (date, bore size, decoration etc) as well as photographs and in some cases illustrations.

Tables/gazetteers also included and where possible pipe makers identified.
