Bishop’s Palace, Howden

Since July 2019, PastSearch has been providing additional support to the group of volunteers who have been working on discovering the layout of the East Wing buildings of the medieval Bishop of Durhams residence in Howden.

The group started digging evaluation trenches in 2018 and over two seasons they have excavated 3 trenches, which, in which stone walls, along with internal and external floor surfaces.

They are hoping to be able to continue in 2020 and you can follow their progress on their Facebook Page
